Simple Luggage Marker

Because during a recent work trip it became apparent that everyone has the same backpack.
No, seriously. The guy in front of me in airport security grabbed my bag thinking it was his, and the hotel breakfast area was littered with them every morning. Same trip. Had to add something to quickly identify my stuff without asking someone to “prove it” by opening the thing up.
Design Notes
Designed and implemented quickly in FreeCAD 1.0, and added my logo for extra “security.” Not much to say outside of that.
Helpful Tools
3D Printer that can handle flexible materials (and maybe layer color changes)
1. Print out Parts
Files can be found near the bottom of the page. The ID component will not have my logo on it (that’s mine), but the inclusion of a STEP file “blank” should get you to a satisfactory point. Didn’t grab a good photo after printing, but orientation should be straightforward (please don’t surprise me).
LuggageTag-Band / LuggageTag-BandLarge
Material: Flex (98A)
Infill: 15-20%
Supports: No
Brim: No
LuggageTag-ID-Blank
Material: PLA
Infill: 15-50% (whatever you want, really)
Supports: No
Brim: No
2. Assemble Onto Bag
The flexible material allows for some “give” in order to allow the ID to fit snugly into one end, wrap the band around whatever you need, and secure.
Had to make a set for my kids too.

And that’s about it to be honest. Nothing too fancy.
